Radio Weesper — a home for a community radio

The website for Radio Weesper — a volunteer-run community station for every corner of electronic music. I designed and built its home for the live stream, schedule, chat, and archive.

Radio Weesper is a volunteer-run community radio showcasing every corner of electronic music, from emerging artists to established names. I designed and built radioweesper.com — the station's home on the web — for the crew I'm part of.

The site is the front door to everything the station does: it serves the live stream, a live chat alongside it, the show schedule, an archive of past shows to replay on demand, and an offline player for when nothing's live.

A real deployment of the little suite

The site runs on the same tools built for stations like this one. It plays the littlestreamer live stream, and it pulls its artist and show content from littlebooker over an API — so when the schedule or an artist changes in littlebooker, the update streams to the website instantly, with no manual copying.

How it's built

  • Next.js with ISR and server-sent events, so pages stay live and current without hammering the backend.
  • Strapi for the editable content the crew manages themselves.
  • Self-hosted on the station's own server, exposed through Cloudflare Tunnels and served via the Cloudflare CDN — so it scales to large audiences without changing the setup.
